An encounter ensued between four members of Bhuppi Rana gang and police during an extortion bid from a businessman at hotel Relax near furniture market in Baltana around 9pm on Sunday. Sources said the cross firing ensued when the cops moved in to arrest the suspects. One cop is said to be injured in the encounter.
The Bhuppi Rana gang members had reportedly come to collect the extortion money from a businessman when the encounter broke in. Sources said three gangsters have been detained till now.
Commandoes of the operation cell have reached the spot too. An ambulance has been stationed near the spot.
