The police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
Chennai:
Three college students from Chennai drowned in a river in Coimbatore district on Friday, police said. The three were students of a private physiotherapy college in the Tamil Nadu capital.
Visuals from the site of the tragic incident show rescue efforts being carried out by both locals and police personnel. The bodies of the students were brought out of the water one after the other, while others, presumably fellow students, crying in the background.
The police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
